The project
The parish had been without a working instrument for two years after its aging reed organ finally failed beyond economical repair, and the building committee's primary requirement was reliability on a tight maintenance budget as much as tone. A single well-chosen manual division — Principal 8′, Gedeckt 8′, Principal 4′, Flute 4′, Fifteenth 2′ — paired with a single independent 16′ pedal stop gives real chorus-building capability and genuine pedal support for hymn-singing without the mechanical complexity (and maintenance cost) of a second manual division.
The organ now anchors the parish’s weekly services, and the committee opted into a standing annual tuning contract rather than calling for one-off visits, specifically to avoid a repeat of the deferred-maintenance failure that took out their previous instrument.
